YETIV'S OP-ED IN CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR

Steve Yetiv, political science professor, co-authored an editorial titled "Why the Saudis Aren't Lifting a Finger to Ease Oil Prices" that appeared in the Feb. 6 edition of Christian Science Monitor.

Yetiv's research focuses on global oil security, global energy and interdependence and Middle East relations. His forthcoming book, "The Absence of Grand Strategy: The United States and the Persian Gulf (1972-2005)," analyzes the evolution of the United States' foreign policy in the Persian Gulf, offering a "provocative and panoramic view of American strategies in a region critical to the functioning of the entire global economy."

Previous publications from Yetiv include "Explaining Foreign Policy," an examination of the decisions that took the United States to war in the Persian Gulf in 1991 and 2003, and "Crude Awakenings: Global Oil Security and American Foreign Policy," which examines global oil security with a focus on longer run oil market dynamics, OPEC, the Middle East and global interdependence.
