Career Day Helpers
Old Dominion mechanical engingeering graduate students Tushar Kulkarni, Sandeep Thube, Manish Mittal and Keerti Sai Reddy Yalala were among the volunteers who helped out at the Ship Building and Repair Career Day on Feb. 21 at the Constant Center. Sponsored by ODU's Lean Institute, which is headed by Alok Verma, the Ray Ferrari Professor of engineering, the daylong event brought hundreds of middle and high school students to campus for personal visits with industry professionals and hands-on activities, such as drilling, pipe fitting and welding, to introduce them to career paths in the ship repair industry.
