CCPO TO HOST LECTURE ON EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON CHESAPEAKE BAY REGION

Victoria Coles, a University of Maryland researcher who is studying the potential effects of climate change on the Chesapeake Bay region, will speak in the spring seminar series of Old Dominion University's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4.

Coles will describe her use of data from the Fourth International Panel for Climate Change to evaluate model projections of 20th century climate change in the Chesapeake Bay region. Recent projections of climate change in the 21st century also will be discussed in the lecture, which will be in Room 3200 of the Innovation Research Park @ ODU Building at 4111 Monarch Way.

The speaker is an assistant research professor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, Horn Point Laboratory. A reception with refreshments, which begins at 3 p.m., and the lecture are free and open to the public.
