FINAL WEEKEND FOR ODU'S "THE BIRDS"
The ODU theatre department presents their second show of the season, Aristophanes' "The Birds," translated by Peter Meineck, this weekend. Directed by the department's newest faculty member, Jenifer Alonso, the intimate Stables Theatre is now the home of a boisterous chorus of birds. They help two vulgar old men escape their debt, avoid lawsuits, find mates, oust the gods, and found Cloud Cuckooland- a raucous utopia that soon collapses into a zany dictatorship.
A recent review of the play calls it "well worth your money" with commendations for the cast, set, lighting and sound. Read more at http://www.onhamptonroads.com/reviews/theatrereviews/odu-gives-hampton-roads-the-birds-15.html
Tickets, $10 students and $15 general admission, may be purchased in advance at the Arts and Letters box office, located in the lobby of the University Theatre (Hampton Boulevard, between 46th and 47th streets), or by calling 757-683-5305.
