CANDIDATES FOR PROVOST TO BE INTERVIEWED

Two candidates will be on campus starting the week of Dec. 3 to interview for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, according to John R. Broderick, vice president for institutional advancement, chief of staff and chair of the search committee.

Broderick said the search committee has reviewed the credentials of more than 80 applicants. He said the committee spent many long hours assessing the candidates and made every attempt to reach out to as many campus constituents as possible during the interview process.

In addition, vitae of all candidates can be reviewed in Perry Library, the President's Office and the deans' offices for all six academic colleges.

Dec. 3 � 4, Dr. Carolyn Simpson, provost and senior vice president at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. She is on sabbatical leave through June 2008. She also served as associate provost for research and graduate education at Boston University.

Dr. Simpson will make two public presentations, Dec. 3 from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. and Dec. 4 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Both will be held in the Board of Visitors Room in Webb Center and are open to the public.

Dec. 5 � 6, Dr. Gary A. Olson, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Illinois State University. He also served as interim associate vice president for academic affairs at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg.

Dr. Olson will make two public presentations, Dec. 5 from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. and Dec. 6 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Both will be held in the Board of Visitors Room in Webb Center and are open to the public.
