GOV. KAINE TO SPEAK AT GRAND OPENING OF CENTER FOR TEACHER QUALITY TODAY
Gov. Tim Kaine will speak regarding the importance of education at the grand opening of the Old Dominion University Center for Teacher Quality and Educational Leadership, 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15.
Funded by the Virginia General Assembly, CTQEL helps teachers and school leaders mobilize community resources to meet at-risk students' academic and other educational needs. It is one aspect of Old Dominion's commitment to partnerships that aim to improve student achievement, leadership and teacher quality. CTQEL is a community outreach organization of the ODU Darden College of Education's Program for Research and Evaluation in Public Schools (PREPS).
In addition to Gov. Kaine, other speakers for the event include ODU President Roseann Runte and Del. Phil Hamilton from Newport News.
