48TH STREET CLOSED FROM 10 A.M. - 3 P.M. FRIDAY

Forty-eighth Street between Parker and Powhatan avenues will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 to allow utility crews to complete work for the new Student Recreation Center.

During these hours, the street will be blocked to through traffic. Vehicles that are already parked on the street will not be required to move for the closure. Traffic control officers will be stationed at the corner of Parker Avenue and 48th Street for the duration of the closure to direct detours and allow already-parked vehicles to exit from that end of the street.

Old Dominion University offices and centers directly impacted by this closure include the Child Development Center, Human Resources and the Benthic Ecology Lab.
