ODU PROFESSOR TO SPEAK AT ANNUAL AAUW MEETING SEPT.11
Janet Peery, associate professor of creative writing at Old Dominion University, will be the guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Norfolk branch of the American Association of University Women at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. in the Virginia Rice Webb Room of Webb Center.
Peery, who joined ODU as a professor in 1993, is the author of the recently published novel "What the Thunder Said" and the acclaimed "Alligator Dance," a collection of short stories. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship and was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia in 2002.
