FLAGS LOWERED IN HONOR OF COL. JON M. LOCKEY

Gov. Tim Kaine ordered the flags of the United States and Virginia at state facilities to be lowered in honor of United States Army Colonel Jon M. Lockey, who died while serving in Iraq.

Born in 1963 in Hollywood, Calif., Lockey was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He received his master's degree from New Mexico State University.

Lockey, who leaves behind a wife and two sons, will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on July 10 per the governor's order.
