COMMENCEMENT PROCESSIONAL TO PROCEED AS PLANNED
The commencement processional will proceed as planned for the Old Dominion University graduation Saturday, May 5. Student registration takes place in South Cafeteria of Webb University Center for both ceremonies.
The morning ceremony, for graduates from the colleges of Arts and Letters, Engineering and Technology and Health Sciences, will begin at 9 a.m. For the morning ceremony, processional participants must be at student registration in Webb University Center no later than 7:45 a.m. Doors open at 7 a.m.
Exercises for graduates from the colleges of Business and Public Administration, Education and Sciences begin at 2 p.m. Ceremony participants must be at student registration no later than 12:45 p.m. Doors open at noon.
Graduates should advise their families and guests to allow extra time to enter the Ted Constant Convocation Center for commencement ceremonies.
The university's Office of Public Safety has announced that some additional security measures will be implemented as guests enter the building. These measures are not being instituted as a result of any specific threat, but as routine, precautionary actions for the safety and peace of mind of those who will be gathering in a large venue.
