COACH WENDY LARRY FEATURED ON WVEC-TV's "DANCING WITH THE STARS"

Wendy Larry, the head women's basketball coach at Old Dominion University, is featured on WVEC-TV's local contest, "Hampton Roads Dancing with the Stars." Other contestants include Meyera Oberndorf, mayor of Virginia Beach; Chuck Doud, morning announcer at 94.9 The Point; and Elisha "Cadillac" Harris, head football coach at Indian River High School in Chesapeake.

Winners will be selected by the highest number of online votes. To view video of contestants dancing and to vote, visit: http://www.wvec.com/news/daybreak/dancing.html.

The poll will remain open until Monday, May 21, and the winner will be announced May 22 on 13 News Daybreak.

During her 19 years at the helm of the ODU women's basketball program, Larry's teams have reached 18 NCAA tournaments, captured an NCAA record-setting 15 Colonial Athletic Association titles, collected nearly 500 victories and made Lady Monarch basketball one of the most recognized names in women's basketball.

Larry has served on the board of directors for the Hampton Roads Habitat for Humanity and created the "Wendy Walk" to help raise money for the charitable organization. She and the Lady Monarchs are supporters of the Buddy Walk of Hampton Roads, an effort to raise money and awareness of Down syndrome.
