NOMINATIONS DUE FRIDAY FOR HEALTH SCIENCES BETTER HEALTH AWARD
Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 9, for the inaugural Old Dominion University College of Health Sciences Great Science for Better Health Award. The award seeks to recognize innovative scientific advancements that improve the health and lives of Hampton Roads residents.
Any individuals or teams promoting scientifically sound improvement in public health and health care are eligible for the award, but eligibility is not limited to health professionals. Nominations of clinicians, researchers, community leaders, educators, ministers, architects, developers, business leaders and other professionals are also encouraged.
The winner of the Great Science for Better Health Award will be recognized at the Friends of Health Sciences Dinner, to be held during Public Health Week on Wednesday, April 4. In addition to a plaque and certificate of recognition, the recipient will receive a $3,000 cash award.
Nominations should include a one-page nomination letter, a list of team members including each contribution, documentation to support scientific merit of the innovation and evidence of how this innovation improves public health.
