UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY INVITED TO HONOR DANA BURNETT TODAY
Dana D. Burnett, who guided Old Dominion University's student body for more than 30 years before stepping down as vice president for student affairs in August, will be honored for his service to the university at a reception at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, in Webb University Center.
Burnett, who now serves as professor and chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling, joined the university in 1972 as director of financial aid and placement, and was named dean of student affairs in 1974. He was appointed vice president for student affairs in 1984. During his tenure, he has influenced the lives of thousands of students.
