ODU'S BRUNELLE NAMED OUTSTANDING ADVISOR
Janet Brunelle, assistant chair of the Old Dominion University Computer Science Department and also the chief departmental advisor and senior lecturer, has been named 2007 Outstanding Advisor-Faculty Role for the Mid-Atlantic region of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
She was named advisor of the year for 2006 in the ODU College of Sciences.Brunelle, who also chairs the College of Sciences Undergraduate Committee, earned a bachelor's degree in 1980 and master's degree in 1987 from ODU.
The mission of NACADA is to promote quality academic advising in institutions of higher education. The association has 9,300 members in all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico, Canada, and several other nations. Among the association's regions, the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States is the second largest.
