NATIONAL EATING DISORDERS AWARENESS WEEK AT ODU

Old Dominion University will observe National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Feb. 26 to March 2, with a variety of educational programs sponsored by Counseling Services, Student Health Services and the Women's Center.

The following events are scheduled:

Body Image Talk Back Wall
Monday, Feb. 26 � Friday, March 2, North and South Malls, Webb Center
See how the media portray women and body image, and then write your feelings and thoughts on the images.

Information Displays
Tuesday, Feb. 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., South Mall, Webb Center
Receive information on eating disorders, body image, healthy eating and exercise tips.

"Body Image Over the Ages: Why Is Thin 'In'"?
Tuesday, Feb. 27, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Chesapeake Room, Webb Center
An interactive presentation about the role of the media in developing body image.

Viewing and Discussion of the Documentary "Thin"
Tuesday, Feb. 27, 6-8 p.m., Cape Charles Room, Webb Center
This critically acclaimed documentary by Lauren Greenfield chronicles the lives of four women obtaining treatment for eating disorders. It will be followed by a discussion.

Eating Disorders Screenings
Wednesday, Feb. 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lynnhaven River Room Webb Center
Are you concerned that you may have an eating disorder? Staff members of Counseling Services will provide confidential support and advice.
