LECTURE ON ISRAEL TO BE HELD TODAY
The Old Dominion University Center for Regional and Global Study and the Institute for Jewish Studies and Interfaith Understanding will host a lecture by Efraim Inbar on "Israel's Strategic Environment" at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in room 9024 of the Batten Arts and Letters Building.
Inbar is director of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies and a professor of political studies at Bar-Ilan University in Israel. His research focuses on Middle Eastern strategic issues, particularly the politics and strategy of Israeli national security.
A former paratrooper in the Israel Defense Force, he is currently a reservist at the IDF College of Staff and Command.
Inbar, who has written more than 50 articles for professional journals, is the author of "Outcast Countries in the World Community," "War and Peace in Israeli Politics," "Labor Party Positions on National Security" and "The Israeli-Turkish Entente."
