AUTHOR REGINALD MCKNIGHT TO SPEAK AT VA. BEACH CENTER TODAY
Reginald McKnight, an award-winning author of novels and short fiction, will give a reading at Old Dominion University's Virginia Beach Higher Education Center from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, for Black History Month.
A reception and book signing will follow. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by ODU and Norfolk State University.
McKnight is the author of "The Kind of Light that Shines in Texas," "White Boys," "Moustapha's Eclipse," "He Sleeps" and "I Get on the Bus."
His many awards include the PEN/Hemingway Special Citation, Pushcart Prize, O. Henry Award, Kenyon Review Award for Literary Excellence, Whiting Award, Drue Heinz Literature Prize and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
