SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE TO MEET AT ODU'S VIRGINIA BEACH HIGHER ED CENTER TONIGHT

The Senate Finance Committee will hold a regional meeting to showcase legislation passed by the Senate at Old Dominion University's Virginia Beach Higher Education Center at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10.

"The Senate has taken seriously the charge to address the transportation needs of the Commonwealth during this special session," noted Sen. John H. Chichester (R-Northumberland). "This legislation represents our best effort to provide a sustainable transportation program on both a statewide and regional level."

Sen. Charles R. Hawkins (R-Chatham) added, "I'm excited about the opportunity to share these plans with the citizens who will benefit from them. Once again, the Senate has stepped up to the plate to offer real solutions to our current transportation gridlock."

During the meeting, the public will have an opportunity to comment on the legislation.
