MARBURY RECEIVES VRSA MERIT AWARD
Kevin Marbury, director of the Old Dominion University recreational sports office, has been awarded the Virginia Recreational Sports Association (VRSA) Award of Merit.
The award, given annually to one individual in the state of Virginia, recognizes outstanding contributions, involvement and exceptional performance in the recreational sports profession.
An ODU employee since 2001, Marbury has more than 20 years' experience in higher education and recreational sports. He holds a master's degree from North Texas State University and a doctorate from the University of North Texas.
Stacy Smith, the state director of VRSA, said, "Kevin is genuinely making a difference in the lives of the students and colleagues on campus as well as those across the state and nation. His contagious enthusiasm, energy and a love for what he does have been a tremendous asset to the organization."
VRSA fosters and enhances recreational sports programs through professional meetings and publications.
