HISTORY GRADUATE STUDENTS WIN AWARDS FOR PAPERS
Three Old Dominion University graduate students in history won awards for their papers at the Virginia regional meeting of Phi Alpha Theta chapters
March 25 at Virginia Military Institute.
Students from 11 colleges and universities in Virginia participated in the conference.
The ODU winners and the titles of their papers are:
� Justin Harrell, first place for "Reformation in Rice Country: Assessing the Impact of the Reformed Society of Israelites on the Jews of the American South."
� Troy Valos, second place for "Virginia Was The Place: Study of Natural History in Colonial America, 1584 to 1776."
� Reverie N. Rowlett, honorable mention for "Exhortation of the Captives:Christianity and Nineteenth Century Blacks."
