MATHEMATICS LECTURER TO TAKE PART IN "AIRLINE RIDE ACROSS AMERICA" TO HONOR FLIGHT CREWS LOST ON 9/11
Hutson Lindner, lecturer of mathematics and statistics, will take part in Airline Ride Across America, a 33-day, cross-country fundraising bicycle ride that will honor the 33 flight crew members who lost their lives on the hijacked flights of Sept. 11.
"I am still very much connected to that profession with many close friends," said Lindner, a retired airline pilot from US Airways.
Airline Ride Across America will start April 2 in Los Angeles, with stops in Shanksville, Pa., and the World Trade Center site in New York City before finishing on the grounds of the proposed Pentagon Memorial. The ride is designed to raise funds for all three 9/11 memorials the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, the World Trade Center Memorial and the Pentagon Memorial.
Lindner plans to ride with a group in Somerset, Pa., on April 29, before these cyclists head to New York and then on to Washington, D.C., where they will finish at the Pentagon May 8.
Details about the ride can be found at www.airlineride.org.
