"WOMEN IN JAZZ" EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY THROUGH MARCH 31
"Women in Jazz: Women's Contribution to America's Original Art Form," a print and web exhibit, will be on display in the Old Dominion University Libraries' Diehn Composers Room through March 31.
The exhibit focuses on women's roles in jazz history from its origins to the present, with special emphases on women instrumentalists, vocalists and all-women bands. It includes images, sound recordings and books of and about jazz greats like as Billie Holiday, Mary Lou Williams and the International Sweethearts of Rhythm.
The print exhibit is available for public viewing the Diehn Composers Room, located in Room 189 of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center on the Old Dominion campus. Hour of operation are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
