FIRST DOCTORAL DEFENSE IN COMMUNITY COLLEGE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM SCHEDULED
Ruth Zimmer Hendrick, the first candidate for a doctorate in the Darden College of Education's community college leadership program, will defend her dissertation at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, in Conference Room 118 of the Education Building.
The title of her dissertation is "Evaluating Work Keys Profiling as a Pre-employment Assessment Tool to Increase Employee Retention." Hendrick's dissertation chair is John M. Ritz, professor, chair and graduate program director of occupational and technical studies. Also on her dissertation committee are John E. Turner, associate professor of OTS, and Mark Q. Emick, vice president for institutional advancement at Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke.
Hendrick, of Catawba, Va., is the workforce services coordinator at Virginia Western Community College-Greenfield.
