ODU ALUMNI MAKE TIMES-DISPATCH 'RISING 25' LIST

Three Old Dominion University alumni were mentioned in The Richmond Times-Dispatch's annual listings of the "Rising 25," Richmond's fastest-growing businesses.

Graduates Ken Ampy and Sam Young, who were roommates at ODU, co-founded Astyra Corp., a technology consulting and staffing firm, in 1997.

Rich Robertson, a native of Danville, Va., who graduated from ODU with a mechanical engineering degree, co-founded Dallan Construction Inc. in 1997.

To be eligible to earn a position among the Rising 25, a company must be privately held and independent, headquartered in the Richmond area, operate for profit, have at least a five-year sales history and sales more than $200,000 in 1998, the base year. The Rising 25, now in its 14th year, is sponsored by KPMG, the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
