ODU TO HONOR VETERANS WITH NOV. 11 CEREMONY

Del. John Cosgrove will join Old Dominion University students, faculty and staff in celebrating Veterans Day with a ceremony on Kaufman Mall at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11.

Cosgrove, a 1985 graduate of Old Dominion and a Naval Reserve officer, will deliver remarks at the ceremony. Capt. Erich Fellenz, a senior Army ROTC instructor at Old Dominion, and Maj. Robert Strong, a Marine Corps instructor, will also offer their personal experiences and reflections. Fellenz served as a special operations commander for seven months in northern Iraq and Strong, a helicopter pilot, has served mulitple tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

John Towell '50, a World War II and Korean War Veteran, will participate in a celebratory flag raising and The Faithful Men, under the direction of Nancy Klein, will provide music.

The event is open to the public. A rain site has been set in Webb University Center.
