MONARCHS FACE DUKE IN NCAA SOCCER TOURNEY TONIGHT AT ODU

The 12th-seeded Old Dominion men's soccer team will host Duke in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the
Monarch Soccer Complex.

As one of the top 16 seeds, the Monarchs secured a first-round bye. Duke, 15-5-0, defeated Coastal Carolina 3-0 Friday night in the first
round to advance.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for kids and seniors. The first 200 students can get in for free.

ODU is 0-1 all-time against Duke, suffering a 2-0 loss in 1984. ODU is making its third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, making
it to the second round each time. This year, ODU received its first seeding in program history. The Monarchs, currently 13-5-2, have a
26-game home unbeaten streak on the line, as well as a 22-game home winning streak, which ranks 7th all-time in NCAA history.

Freshman Midfielder/Forward Tomek Charowski scored two second-half goals for the Blue Devils Friday night to lead Duke to their 3-0 victory over Coastal Carolina. Charowski struck first at the 51:29 mark and again at the 77:06 mark. Junior Midfielder Danny Kramer scored Duke's first goal, at the 30:32 mark.

The winner of Tuesday night's game will face the winner of the No. 5 Notre-Dame-Ohio State match either Saturday, Nov. 27, or Sunday, Nov. 28. Should the Monarchs and Fighting Irish both advance, ODU would travel to Notre Dame for the third round.
