MODEL U.N. STUDENTS WIN AWARDS

Several Old Dominion University Model United Nations students won awards at the 38th annual University of Pennsylvania Model U.N. Conference Nov. 10-13 in Philadelphia.

Valerie Sprouse and Mohammed Khatib, both of Norfolk, received Outstanding Delegate awards representing Mexico in the Model U.N. General Assembly Special Political and Decolonization Committee. Sprouse is a freshman majoring in political science. Khatib is a sophomore.

Claire Wulf of Norfolk, a graduate student in international studies, received the Honorable Delegate Award representing Mexico in the U.N. General Assembly Legal Committee.

Brian Rinaldo of Newport News, a graduate student in international studies, received an Honorable Mention for representing Poland in the European Council.

Chris Grandi of Norfolk, a graduate student in international studies, received an Honorable Mention representing the Minister of Border Affairs in a simulation of the Afghan Cabinet.

Other schools represented at the Penn Model U.N. were Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, and the U.S. Naval Academy.
