KWANZAA TRADITION CONTINUES AT ODU

The Old Dominion University student organization Minds About Progress will present the fifth annual Kwanzaa celebration from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 in the South Cafeteria of Webb Center. The event is free and open to the public.

This program includes workshops and lectures that focus on African culture and its impact around the world. Benita Brown and the Virginia State University Sankofa Dance Theater will conduct dance and drumming workshops. Guest speaker Ann Creighton-Zollar, professor of anthropology at Virginia Commonwealth University will discuss the symbols and principles of Kwanzaa.
