BOARD MEMBER PRABHAV MANIYAR DIES; MEMORIAL SERVICE IS THURSDAY

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, for Board of Visitors member Prabhav V. Maniyar, who died Oct. 25. The service will be at Meadowlark Gardens, 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court, Vienna, VA 22182.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in memory of Prabhav V. Maniyar.

Appointed to the ODU board in July 2002, Maniyar was an ODU alumnus, having received his master's degree in economics in 1985. He was honored by the university with a Distinguished Alumni award in 1998. Maniyar embarked on a successful career in banking and business and was chief executive officer and president of Startec Global Communications.

He established the Prabhav Maniyar Endowed Scholarship in the College of Business and Public Administration.
