AEROSPACE LECTURE IS OCT. 22

Jeremiah F. Creedon, director of transportation research in Old Dominion University's Office of Research, will discuss "The National Airspace System-Evaluation of Transformational Strategies and Comments on the Desired Behaviors of Engineers in the Workplace" as part of the Aerospace Engineering Graduate Seminar Series at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in Gornto TELETECHNET Center Room 222.

The National Airspace System is vital to the nations economy. Yet, its own capability is giving rise to increasing demands that cannot be met without significant changes in the way the system is designed and operated. The presentation will describe the initial efforts of both the congressionally mandated Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) and the JPDO's Evaluation Working Group (EWG) in evaluating the effectiveness of specific proposed strategies in achieving the necessary change. Examples of some characteristics felt to be important to a career in engineering will be described in the context of EWG efforts.
