SENSENIG NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Old Dominion University midfielder Dana Sensenig was named the Colonial Athletic Association's (CAA) Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 26.

Sensenig helped Old Dominion to victories over No. 12 Richmond and No. 13 Virginia over the weekend. She scored a goal and had an assist in the second half of Sunday's game against Virginia, helping the Lady Monarchs to another big non-conference victory as she had a hand in back-to-back goals, giving Old Dominion its first lead of the game.

She also aided in keeping Richmond scoreless in the Lady Monarchs' 2-0 win, Old Dominion's first shutout of the 2004 season. Sensenig was a vital part of the Lady Monarchs' penalty corner defense, which thwarted 10 Richmond attempts. She currently leads ODU in scoring with four goals, three assists, and 11 points.

The Lady Monarchs return to action next weekend, when they begin CAA play. Old Dominion hosts No. 19 Hofstra at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, and Drexel at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3.

Admission to the games is free.
