MEN'S SOCCER MOVES UP IN POLL
The Old Dominion University men's soccer team moved up to fifth in the College Soccer News poll and seventh in the NSCAA/adidas Coaches poll after winning the Stihl Soccer Classic and freshman David Horst was named CAA Rookie of the Week.
The freshman defender scored his first career collegiate goal in the win over Navy and played a key role in the Monarchs' defense that allowed just one goal in two games, including the win over Rutgers. ODU hits the road this weekend when they play at Maryland-Baltimore County Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Monarchs are ranked in national stats, 28th in scoring offense at 2.25 per game, ninth in team goals against average at 0.25 and sixth in shutout percentage at 0.75.
