DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS WEEK IS OCT. 5-7

The Women's Center and the Center for Family Violence Education and Research will host lectures, a visual memorial to victims of domestic-violence homicide and a performance of "Willow Song: In Memoriam" for Domestic Violence Awareness Week through Thursday, Oct. 7. Call 683-4109 for more information. Below is the schedule of events.

Oct. 7-
"Violence in the Family: A Life Course Approach," 12:30 p.m., Cape Charles Room, Webb Center. Presented by Randy Gainey, associate professor of sociology and criminal justice. Co-sponsored by the Monarch Dance Team and ODU Dance Association.

"Willow Song: In Memoriam," 8 p.m., room 104, Batten Arts and Letters Building. In March 2002, the Theatre Program at Old Dominion lost one of its highly prized students who was killed by her partner. In memory of this student, and in an effort to educate ourselves about the warning signals of relationships that have gone wrong, "Willow Song" was created to commemorate a loved one and to caution her survivors. Co-sponsored by the Monarch Dance Team and Pi Beta Phi.
