CHILD-REARING SEMINAR IS TONIGHT

B. Bryan Post, an internationally recognized specialist in the treatment of trauma in children and families, will be the guest speaker at a workshop -- titled "Revolutionary New Strategies for Raising Children without Violence: What Works, What Doesn't and Why" -- from 7:15-9:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in room 104 of the Batten Arts and Letters Building.

The workshop is for parents and anyone interested in the welfare of children.

The founder of the Post Institute for Family-Centered Therapy, as well as the author of "For All Things A Season" and co-author of "The Forever Child" series, Post, an adopted child, has made it his primary work to speak to parents and professionals from a perspective of true-life examples based on his own life and the countless families he has successfully treated.

The workshop is sponsored by the group In Support of Children and ODU's Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. No registration is required. Free parking is available in the Ted Constant Center Parking Garage (anywhere without a meter), Lot 20 (off 45th Street) or Lot 30 (next to the Batten Arts and Letters Building on 43rd Street).
