RAVER-LAMPMAN AWARDED FULBRIGHT GRANT
Sharon Raver-Lampman, professor of early childhood, speech-language pathology and special education, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture in special education at the University of Ukraina in Kiev, Ukraine, during the 2004-05 academic year. The announcement was made recently by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
An Old Dominion faculty member since 1985, Raver-Lampman will assist in the development of a countrywide teacher training program for teachers of students with disabilities. She is one of approximately 800 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad to some 14 countries in 2004-05 through the Fulbright Scholar Program.
This marks Raver-Lampman's third Fulbright award. She has also taught in the Czech Republic (1993-94) and India (1999). Recipients of Fulbright Scholar awards are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement and because They have demonstrated extraordinary leadership potential in their fields.
