MARTIN HIRES WRESTLING ASSISTANT

Old Dominion University wrestling head coach Steve Martin has announced the hiring of Lee Pritts as his first assistant coach. Lee Pritts joins Martin's staff after spending the past six seasons as an assistant under University of Missouri Coach Brian Smith.

A two-time captain while wrestling at Eastern Michigan (118 pounds), Pritts was a two-time Mid-American Conference champion, qualifying for the NCAA Championships three times and finishing as an All-American in 1996. Following the 1996 season, Pritts was named Outstanding Wrestling of the Mid-American Conference. Pritts qualified for the 2000 Olympic Trials after winning the North Regional Tournament.

"The Old Dominion coaching staff is delighted to have a person of Lee Pritt's caliber come aboard and help us build the ODU wrestling program," Martin said. "He's an excellent technician, recruiter and developer of student athletes and his seven years of experience at the Division I level will really add to our program."

Pritts has served as a clinician and coach at several of the top wrestling camps across the nation, including the Martin family's Granby School of Wrestling for the last nine years. He graduated from Eastern Michigan in 1998 with a degree in education.
