This year's award nominees include two authors affiliated with Old Dominion University: Associate Professor of History Jane T. Merritt, author of "At the Crossroads: Indians and Empires on a Mid-Atlantic Frontier, 1700-1763" (The University of North Carolina Press), and Eminent Scholar Emeritus and Louis I. Jaffe Professor Emeritus of English Alf J. Mapp, Jr., author of "The Faiths of Our Fathers: What America's Founders Really Believed" (Rowman and Littlefield).
An exhibit providing a brief overview of the annual Library of Virginia Literary Awards and highlighting those books is on display in the lobby of Perry Library through Friday, Sept. 17.
