FUNERAL SERVICES FOR GLEN F. COTA ON WEDNESDAY

Glenn F. Cota, research professor in Old Dominion University's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography, died Friday, July 2. He was 53.

A native of Hastings, Mich., Cota was a biological oceanographer with an emphasis on polar research and had been a member of the Old Dominion faculty for nine years.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy E. Cota; his children, Ashley Nicole and Ryan Matthew, of Norfolk, and Michael Smalligan and his wife Melissa, of Lansing, Mich.; his mother, Edna Wurm Cota; his father, Gordon Cota, both of Battle Creek, Mich.; two sisters and a brother.

A memorial funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in The First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Valena Hoy. A reception will follow the service in the church social hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
