FOUNDER OF NED DAVIS RESEARCH TO ADDRESS ECONOMICS CLUB MAY 5
Ned Davis, founder of Ned Davis Research, a leading independent institutional investment research and advisory firm, will speak at the Economics Club of Hampton Roads luncheon Wednesday, May 5.
Cosponsored by Old Dominion University's College of Business and Public Administration, the luncheon, scheduled for noon at the Sheraton Waterside Hotel, costs $30 for nonmembers. Due to limited space, reservations are required.
Ned Davis, chief executive officer and chief investment strategist founded the firm in 1980 after 12 years as partner and director of technical research at J.C. Bradford and Co. Davis writes the firm's most popular publication, the "Institutional Hotline" three times per week among other publications. He has written several books including "Being Right or Making Money" and "The Triumph of Contrarian Investing."
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business, Davis has been professionally involved in the stock market since 1966. Davis offers a risk-management approach to investing, staying in harmony with the primary trend and avoiding major disasters. His firm has developed computer-derived timing models, indicators, and ranking systems that gauge risk in everything from the economy to the U.S. stock and bond markets, global stock markets and currencies, domestic and global sectors, industry groups and individual stocks.
