BOOK SIGNING FRIDAY AT BARNES AND NOBLE

Luisa Igloria, associate professor in the creative writing program and English department at Old Dominion University, will introduce and read from "Going Home to a Landscape: Writings by Flipinas" at Barnes and Noble, Virginia Beach, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 28.

The book, which has recently been released, is an anthology touching on the memory, love, the sorrow of loss and childhood joys as viewed through the eyes of an Asian culture that is the product of American and Spanish colonization. There are 52 contributing authors, including Igloria, who created this book to present a shared history of Flipinas' struggle to maintain their identity in the far-flung Philippine diaspora. The anthology is edited by Marianne Villanueva and Virginia Cerenio.

Following the reading there will be a book signing. More information is available on the Web at www.proaxis.com/~calyx/catalog/filipina-anthology.html.
