ANDERS TO RETURN TO ODU FIELD HOCKEY

Beth Anders announced that she will return as head coach of the Old Dominion University field hockey program after taking a leave to coach the United States national team as they attempted to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

Despite missing qualifying for the Olympics by one game, she led Team USA to the finals of the Pan Am Cup. Anders is the nation's winningest collegiate field hockey coach.

Anders returns to the Monarchs' sideline with a 429-64-7 overall record at Old Dominion University, winning nine national championships and 10 CAA titles. The Monarchs open the 2004 fall season on Aug. 28 at Penn State.
