RACE AND ETHNICITY SYMPOSIUM IS APRIL 20
Old Dominion University's Institute For the Study of Race and Ethnicity presents a student symposium, "The Brown Decision: Past, Present and Future," at noon Tuesday, April 20, in the Board of Visitor's Conference Room in Webb University Center.
The symposium, which marks the 50th anniversary of the historic Brown v. Board of Education court decision, is co-sponsored by the institute and the Old Dominion University Pre-law Society.
Student presentations will include: Funmi Adesanya, "Virginia's Resistance: The State vs. The Federal Government," LaRhonda Armstrong, "Desegregation in the Post Brown Period in Suffolk, Virginia" and Jeffrey E. Scot, "Local Elite Involvement In The Reopening of Norfolk Public Schools During Virginia's Massive Resistance."
