HEALTH CARE OPEN ENROLLMENT STARTS THIS WEEK
Old Dominion University employees will receive their Spotlight booklet containing details on the open enrollment for health care Wednesday, April 14, through Friday, May 14, with changes effective July 1.
The Spotlight will also have information on flexible reimbursement accounts (Medical and Dependent) which have the same open enrollment period and effective dates. Employees who are currently enrolled in a flexible account must re-enroll for the next fiscal year July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005. Current participation ends Wednesday, June 30.
Employees may use E-Direct to enroll in or make changes to their health care and flexible reimbursement accounts. Access E-Direct at http://edirect.virginia.gov.
Health benefits open enrollment is an annual opportunity to: add/remove optional features such as out-of-network, expanded dental and/or vision, hearing and expanded dental. Employees can add eligible dependents not included on their current coverage, remove ineligible dependents, cancel coverage or enroll themselves and eligible dependents for the first time.
There are no significant coverage changes to co-pays, deductibles or co-insurance. Employee premiums are projected to increase 14 percent effective July 1, 2004, with the premium change effective in paychecks dated July 14.
Detailed information is available on the HR Web site at www.odu.edu/af/humanresources/benefits/ and the Department of Human Resource Management website at www.dhrm.state.va.us.
