GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT COURSE TO BE REQUIRED
Old Dominion University's faculty senate Tuesday voted to endorse a new "global environment" course to be required for all freshmen.
The course was approved by a 19-13 margin. The action paves the way for ODU to begin offering the class next spring.
Approximately 2,000 students will meet weekly for a lecture and twice-weekly in discussion groups led by graduate students. A rotating series of lecturers will include outside speakers and ODU professors in fields from oceanography to geography.
