SPONSORS SOUGHT FOR JOINT FORCES GUESTS
Sponsors are being sought for foreign military officers visiting the Joint Forces Staff College (JFSC) in Norfolk.
Three times a year, foreign officers attend a 13-week residence course at the JFSC focusing on the U.S. justice system, media awareness and American culture. The guests speak fluent English, reside on the JFSC campus and attend classes there.
Community sponsors can assist by helping international guests gain a broader view of American life. Elaborate events centered on the guests are not required; it is actually preferred that hosts simply include the student in normal activities. Past sponsors have taken their student on picnics, out to a local restaurant or to the zoo, school plays, local concerts and sporting events. Sponsors can participate in the program as little or as much as they like.
Program questions can be answered by Lt. j.g. Ron Brinker, international military student officer, at 443-6626 or brinkerr@jfsc.ndu.edu.
