ODU FACULTY, ALUMNI WIN AWARDS
Several faculty and alumni from the occupational and technical studies department in Old Dominion University's Darden College of Education won awards at the recent International Technology Education Association Conference in Albuquerque, N.M.
Awards received included:
Outstanding Technology Education Program, Council on Technology Teacher Education - ODU technology education faculty Walter Deal, Hassan Ndahi, Philip Reed and John Ritz;
Maley Spirit of Excellence Outstanding Graduate Student Awards - ODU alumnus Maurice Frazier, Oscar Smith High School, Chesapeake;
International Technology Education Association, Technology Program of the Year Award - Landstown High School, Virginia Beach, led by ODU alumni Sid Radar and Austin Mantey;
International Technology Education Association, Technology Education Teacher of the Year - ODU alumnus Roger Dowe, Northside Middle School, Norfolk;
Pitsco Educational Grant ($2,000) - ODU alumna Laura Hummel, Manteo Middle School, Manteo, N.C.;
Outstanding Leadership Award from International Technology Education Board of Directors - John Ritz;
Epsilon Pi Tau Laureate Citation, International Honor Society for Professions in Technology - John Ritz.
