KAPPA DELTA RHO TO HOLD CAR BASH FUND-RAISER FOR CANCER RESEARCH

Kappa Delta Rho (KDR), a fraternal organization at Old Dominion University, will hold a car bash from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, to raise money for Relay for Life and KDR for Kids in front of Webb Center.

Participants can help beat cancer by taking one swing at a car for each $1 donation. John's Rollback Service donated the car which will be towed by Baldwin's Towing at the end of the event.

Relay for Life is a project of the American Cancer Society that raises money to fight cancer through an all-night relay for teams of eight to 15 people. Old Dominion has participated in the relay for several years. Last April, ODU administrators, faculty, staff and students raised $31,000 to help fight cancer. The goal for this year's event to be held April 16-17 at Powhatan Field, is $35,000.

The KDR for Kids program is an umbrella campaign for all chapters of KDR to benefit children. Since its establishment in 1905 at Middlebury College in Vermont, KDR has initiated more than 23,000 members.
