CCPO LECTURE IS FEB. 9
The first Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography seminar for the spring semester will be given by Xinyu Guo from the Center for Marine Environmental Studies at Ehime University in Japan at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in room 109 of Crittenton Hall, 52nd Street and Colley Avenue.
Guo is a visiting scientist at CCPO and is working with Arnoldo Valle-Levinson. During his time at CCPO, Guo has implemented a numerical circulation model for the Chesapeake Bay. He has used this model to examine the effects of river discharge and tidal flow on the circulation of Chesapeake Bay. His seminar will be a presentation of the Bay circulation model and analyses of the simulations that have been done with the model. The type of work that Dr. Guo has done is relevant to the developing Chesapeake Bay Community Modeling initiative.
