ODU THEATRE'S CYRANO' THROUGH FEB. 29
Old Dominion University Theatre continues its 2003-04 season through Feb. 29 with Edmond Rostand's classic "Cyrano de Bergerac."
The play tells the comic story of Cyrano, whose long nose forced him to hide his lifelong passion for the beautiful Roxanne.
Under the direction of guest artist Thadd McQuade, ODU's production strips away the lavish settings and operatic sentiment that often accompany Rostand's play to focus on the clownish antics and unparalleled wit that lie at the heart of the work. In the tradition of touring Comedia del Arte performances, the production will also be designed to travel and will represent ODU at the Edinburg International Festival in Scotland this summer.
Show times for "Cyrano de Bergerac" are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Ticket prices are $5 for ODU students with valid identification, $8 for non-ODU students and faculty and $10 for general admission.
The University Theatre is located on Hampton Boulevard between 46th and 47th streets. For tickets call 683-5305.
