ODU FACULTY ON WAVY JAN. 18

Gail Singleton Taylor, associate professor in the Department of Educational Curriculum and Instruction at Old Dominion University, will appear on the television talk show "Bottom Line" at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, on WAVY-TV (Ch. 10) to discuss the upcoming African American Read-In.

A nationwide event initiated by the National Council of Teachers of English and endorsed by the International Reading Association, the event was designed to make African American literacy an important part of Black History Month activities.

During the program, participants from the university and larger community will come together to read poems or book excerpts written by African Americans.The Read-In will be held at Old Dominion University from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, in Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building room 102. WAVY personality Don Roberts, host of "Bottom Line," will serve as the master of ceremonies.
